Getting Started

Everything you need for your first hour on MaterialsHub: create an account, understand the workspace you're working in, learn what your role lets you do, find your way around the top navigation, and see how credits power the AI features.

Signing in

/auth Public

What it is — the single screen that stands between the public web and your workspace. It is the only page you can reach without an account; everything else in the platform lives behind it. Why it matters — your account is what ties you to a workspace and to your role inside it, so signing in correctly is what makes the right menus, data and permissions appear. The screen has two tabs — Sign In and Sign Up — plus two helpers.

How to create your account

  1. Open the Sign Up tab (or click Continue with Google to skip the form entirely).
  2. Enter your full name, email and a password.
  3. Confirm to create the account — you're placed on the 30-day trial automatically.
  4. You land on the Dashboard, the home base for your workspace.

What it affects: which workspace you open into and, through your role there, everything you can see and do from that point on.

Consumer vs reseller (business) signup

There are two kinds of account, and they onboard differently:

In short: if you just want to use the platform, a normal sign-up makes you a consumer. To sell as a business, apply as a reseller — VAT + ΑΑΔΕ verification + approval — and you're granted the business role once approved. (See roles for what each tier can do.)

If your email isn't recognised on the Sign In tab, you probably haven't registered yet — switch to Sign Up. If you originally joined with Google, use the Google button rather than a password.

Workspaces

What it is — a workspace is the self-contained area that everything you do lives inside. It groups your materials, moodboards, quotes, finance documents, CRM records and team members into one boundary. Why it matters — the workspace is the privacy and sharing boundary: what one person sees in a workspace, their teammates in the same workspace see too, while other workspaces stay completely separate. That separation is what lets a studio and a partner business coexist on the same login without their data ever mixing.

You can belong to more than one workspace at once — for example one for your own studio and one shared with a partner — and move between them whenever you like.

How to find and switch workspaces

  1. Look at the workspace switcher in the top-right of the header — it names the workspace you're currently in.
  2. Read the pill beside it: it shows your role in that workspace and the workspace's plan.
  3. Open the switcher and pick another workspace to move into it. The app re-loads with that workspace's data; nothing you did in one leaks into another.

What it affects: every list, record and document you see — they all belong to the workspace currently shown in the switcher.

Not sure which workspace you're in? Glance at the switcher in the top-right before you create or edit anything important — it confirms both the workspace name and your role, so you don't add a record to the wrong business.

Roles & capabilities

What it is — the access system that decides which parts of the platform you can reach. It rests on two things: your role within the workspace (what you've been made — member, administrator, sales rep, and so on) and the capabilities / modules the workspace has enabled (which features it pays for). Why it matters — roles keep sensitive areas like Finance and CRM in the right hands while still letting everyone use the everyday tools. Core areas are open to everyone signed in; specialised back-office and partner areas are gated and only appear when both your role and the workspace's modules line up.

AreaTypical requirement
Dashboard, Agent Hub, MoodBoards, DiscoverAvailable to every signed-in user
Quotes, Projects, CRM, Finance, InboxA capability or module entitlement on the workspace
Sales PortalSales-rep capability (otherwise shows “Access Restricted”)
Factory AnalyticsFactory / manufacturer accounts

How to get access to a gated area

  1. Note the area you're missing (for example Finance, or the Sales Portal).
  2. Ask a workspace administrator to enable the relevant module or grant you the matching capability — they do this from the workspace's settings.
  3. Refresh the app. The newly-unlocked destination appears in your top navigation.

If a menu item or page isn't visible to you, it's almost always a role or capability gate — not a bug. The platform hides what you can't use rather than showing a dead link.

Navigating the app

What it is — the horizontal top navigation bar that runs across every page, and your single way to move between modules. Why it matters — it's the same on every screen, so once you learn it you always know where you are and how to get somewhere else. The logo is on the left, the main destinations are in the centre, and the workspace switcher plus your profile menu are on the right. The primary destinations are:

Dashboard Agent Hub Inbox Projects MoodBoards Discover Quotes CRM Finance

Only the destinations your role and plan unlock will be shown — so your bar may have fewer items than the full list above (this is the role gating from the previous section in action). The profile menu (top-right) is where you reach your Account & Billing settings and sign out.

What it affects: nothing on its own — the nav is purely how you travel. Where it can take you is determined entirely by your role and the workspace's plan.

Credits & plans

What it is — the cost model behind the platform. MaterialsHub keeps it simple and predictable: reading, searching and browsing are always free, and only explicit AI and generation actions consume credits — for example image generation, virtual staging, presentation sheets, 3D/VR worlds, and some market scans. Why it matters — it means you can use the platform day-to-day without watching a meter; the only things that spend credits are the ones that actually run expensive AI work for you, and you're always told the cost first.

How to manage credits

You'll never be charged by surprise: every metered control shows you its credit cost before you confirm. If the cost ever exceeds your balance, the action is blocked until you top up — your work isn't lost.

First things to do

Your first hour is best spent in a fixed order — each step makes the next one more useful. Work down this path:

  1. Confirm your workspace — check the switcher in the top-right shows the right workspace and role before you create anything.
  2. Complete your account & business details — open Account & Billing so your profile and (if you'll invoice) your business identity are ready.
  3. Add your contacts in CRM — customers and suppliers added here can later be referenced by quotes, projects and finance documents, so do this before building anything that needs them.
  4. Try the Agent Hub — ask in plain language to get fast value and see what the platform can do.
  5. Bring in your team — if you'll work with colleagues, an administrator can invite them and set their roles (see Finance Settings → Team for the invite flow).

The cards below are the quickest jumping-off points for that first session:

Open the Agent Hub

Ask in plain language — “find grey cement-look tiles” or “stage this empty room”. It's the fastest way to get value from the platform.

Explore the Dashboard

Get the lay of the land for your workspace and jump into any module from one place.

Set up your contacts

Add your customers and suppliers in CRM so quotes, projects and finance documents can reference them later.

When you're ready to go deeper, the back-office areas — Finance & Invoicing and the rest of the modules in the navigation — are documented on their own pages.
